What is CBD?
Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of the most abundant chemical compounds in the cannabis plant. And unlike THC, another compound found in marijuana, it does not produce a psychoactive “high” – but it has many health benefits!
Can be sourced from industrial hemp
Industrial hemp and Marijuana both come from the same plant species – Cannabis Sativa L. The term ‘Hemp’ refers to the industrial/commercial use of cannabis stalk and seed for textiles, foods, papers, body care products, detergents, plastics, and building materials. Whereas marijuana generally refers to the medicinal, recreational or spiritual uses involving the smoking of cannabis flowers. Nowadays however there is a big difference between industrial hemp (which is legal to produce) and marijuana.

Cannabis has over 113 different cannabinoids that act on the human body’s Endocannabinoid System, some of which create the “high” feeling (psychoactive effect), while others do not (principally CBD). Marijuana contains high levels of THC – tetrahydrocannabinol, which causes the psychoactive/high effect; whereas industrial hemp has very low levels of THC (<0.3%), but high levels of sour diesel CBD(>0.3%). In fact, industrial hemp typically contains only 0.05–1% of THC! So you can see it is very difficult these days to find a product containing psychoactive THC in industrial hemp products – especially in North America since the passing of the Hemp Act.
Hemp seed oil is packed full of essential fatty acids including Linoleic Acid (Omega 6) and Alpha-Linolenic Acid (omega 3). In fact, hemp seed oil contains nearly 20% protein, making it one of the most nutritious oils on the planet! It is full of antioxidants and has anti-aging properties too.
Diesel cbd hemp flower is a natural constituent of hemp seed oil! In fact, its entire molecular structure is practically identical to that of THC, the only difference is that CBD has been transformed into a “negative image” by simply switching around one atom – changing the molecule from a 3-D shape similar to THC, into a 3-D shape completely different from THC.
Another interesting thing about CBD is its effect on phytocannabinoid-terpenoid entourage effects. Terpenes are fragrant essential oils found in plants that have been shown to modify the pharmacological actions of cannabinoids in an overall outcome synergy when both are present together in cannabis.
